How it works

A card shows something like parler, the English meaning, and nous. The tense might be présent, imparfait, futur, conditionnel, subjonctif, or passé composé. You type parlions and move on to the next challenge.

Occasionally there is a match game, match tenses to forms for the same verb and person.

Reflexives keep me, te, se on the form you type — m’assois, me suis assis — not a bare stem that only looks right on paper.

There are more than 1,500 verbs with English definitions. You can filter by tense and by difficulty.

Tension is for people who already know a little French and struggle with conjugation. It lets you practice until answering becomes second nature.
